“We accept the challenge”

There are less than two weeks left until the Hanse Boat Race and according to tradition, the captains of the HSBA Rowing Team as representatives of last year’s losing party visited Jacobs Campus on April 27 to issue the formal challenge to the captains of the Jacobs University Rowing Team. We accepted the challenge and we are looking forward to fighting for victory on May 12th, in Hamburg. This year, for the first time, two new races will take place: a male quad 500m and a female quad 500m race. More information as well as the official schedule of the event can be found here. Christening Frieda

The Jacobs University Rowing Team christens the new racing boat for the Eight Race at the Hanse Rowing Cup on May 12th. Not wasting any time, we (Johannes, Ben, and the Big Ones) unloaded the boats, and we had our first very cold and rainy outing on the water. That night was our first buffet in the canteen, and we discovered that the food...

Jacobs Rowing Team Goes International

The young rowing team from Jacobs University could previously only be found at German regattas in wide gig-boats. However, since last weekend they have proven not only that they can compete at the international level but that they can do so in racing boats. After a mere handful of training sessions in their new eight (thanks again to the sponsor Lürssen) the men of the rowing team displayed their proficiency in commanding the narrow racing boat at the Head of the River Amstel and showed that they are on the right path to defend the Hanse Rowing Cup in May. The women asserted their skills in the racing...
