Rudersport On The Hanse Boat Race

The Loss of the Jacobs Universities Men's Eight and Four was of course a painfull experience, however, as one Seaon closes, the next one begins, and we are more than happy to congratulate the Hamburg Team on both their great performance on the Alster in May, as well as their their prformance in Bad Lobenstein at the beginning of July, where they aquired Fourth place at the Annual German University Championships in the Men' Eight. Naturally we will be taking back the cup in the coming Season of 2012-2013 Furthermore, as the Hanse Boat Race between the HSBA (Hamburg School of BUssiness and Administration)...

CONGRATULATIONS to Larissa and Christoph Bannert´s wedding on the Weekend of the 14th/15th of Juli, 2012 from the Jacobs University Rowing Team!

[singlepic id=4541 w=320 h=240 float=center]It was the first real rowers wedding (Larissa and Christoph are in the Vegesacker Rowing Club) since 10 years, mentioned in the congratulation speech of the VRV President Uwe Vielstich. Many rowers came to form a guard of honor with oars in front of the church in Bremen-Grohn after the ceremony. The handmade wedding cake was presented in the old wooden rowing boat Reporter and finally the bride and the groom needed to cut the wooden oar which was signed by all guests from the wedding-eve-party (Polterabend) [nggallery id=64]

German University Championships 2012 in Bad Lobenstein

[singlepic id=4545 w=320 h=240 float=center]It was one of the hottest days of the year when the Jacobs University rowers started their way from all over Germany to Bad Lobenstein – this year’s location for the German University Championship (Deutsche Hochschulmeister-schaften - DHM). From June 29th until July 1st, universities from all over the country participated in the competition that took place the 65th time.
